The Südwolle Group processes 24,600 tons of yarn annually, supplying numerous well-known textile manufacturers around the globe. High-value deliveries carry significant business risks, which bad debt insurance covers. Previously, the company, with 3,200 employees, relied on an on-premise SharePoint system in combination with Nintex workflows to manage its insurance policies. After more than ten years of successful use, the system was to be replaced and fully migrated to the Microsoft Cloud for easier licensing and integration.
Based in Schwaig near Nuremberg, the global company commissioned Arineo’s Power Platform experts to accomplish this. They created an intuitive solution consisting of a Power App for reporting insurance needs, approval processes in Microsoft Power Automate, and a central SharePoint list where all decisions regarding bad debt insurance are transparently documented and intuitively color-coded. The best part: thanks to the self-service area in SharePoint, the credit limit department can easily make necessary system changes, such as adjusting approval permissions.
With almost 1,000 annual runs, the new Power Automate workflow helps to reduce the Südwolle Group's business risks. Requests for bad debt insurance are submitted and processed, and decisions are transparently documented via the system.
The new solution was to be implemented in line with the Südwolle Group's platform strategy, avoiding interfaces and additional licensing costs.
The credit limit department employees should be able to modify the solution's master data as needed.

The solution developed by Arineo is based on Microsoft Power Apps, Microsoft Power Automate, and Microsoft SharePoint. With this solution, applications for external business risk coverage through insurance, requests for internal coverage, and insurance-related information about the company’s business partners are managed, centrally stored, and transparently documented. Each year, almost 1,000 requests pass through the newly developed system.
The sales team first submits their request for bad debt insurance via an intuitive Power App screen. Once a request is received, Power Automate triggers an approval process that varies depending on the transaction volume. The feedback from the authorized approvers is transparently documented in a central SharePoint list and reported via email to the relevant stakeholders. Pre-defined text modules were created for each decision, which are dynamically inserted into the info emails. Power Automate also sends an automated weekly summary of all decisions to the team management members.
As solution administrators, the credit limit department can easily change the workflow’s master data and continuously improve it. Thanks to the solution’s intuitive design, onboarding was unnecessary: Employees worldwide now use the solution frequently and easily, significantly contributing to the Südwolle Group’s business security.
