Many companies invest in data and AI but struggle with silos, slow evaluation cycles, and prototypes that never make it into production. Data from ERP systems, machines, logistics, e-commerce platforms, and external sources is available, but multiple “truths” often emerge depending on which system is analyzed. Specialist departments wait for reports, data science teams work on isolated use cases, and AI projects only move slowly beyond the experimental stage.
Databricks addresses precisely these challenges and optimally complements your existing Microsoft landscape. The platform combines the openness and scalability of a data lake with the structure and reliability of a data warehouse. The result: A modern data and AI platform on which you can run analytics, machine learning, and generative AI on a shared data foundation. The combination of Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and Power BI creates an integrated approach to reporting, self-service analytics, and AI that is ideal for both SMEs and corporations.
We support you in using Databricks and Microsoft Fabric in a way that fits your organization, your processes, and your IT landscape perfectly.
Databricks bundles data integration, data storage, data engineering, machine learning, and BI connectivity on a single platform.
Data is available in open file formats and is not tied to a single engine. This keeps your data strategy flexible and future-proof.
Integrated collaboration functions, notebooks, SQL interfaces, and MLflow enable different roles to work closely together and transfer use cases to productive operations more quickly.
We support you on your Databricks journey from strategy to operations. Together, we define the target architecture and roadmap for your Databricks Lakehouse, implement the architecture and security, model Delta Lake structures, and establish governance.
To ensure a reliable data foundation, we implement ELT/ETL, streaming and CDC routes, develop notebooks, jobs, and CI/CD pipelines, and set up MLOps processes for training, deployment, and monitoring of your models.
On request, we can take over operations as a managed service – including monitoring, cost optimization, and further development of your Databricks platform.
The Databricks Lakehouse brings together data from ERP, CRM, specialist applications, files, and streaming sources in a central platform.
You no longer work with isolated data silos, but with unified Delta tables that can be used equally for reporting, self-service analyses, data science, and AI. This creates a “single source of truth” that specialist departments and IT access together and serves as a recognized basis for fact-based decisions.
Databricks significantly shortens the path from data idea to productive use case.
Your teams work in a shared environment with notebooks, SQL, and integrated ML tools. Pipelines, models, and dashboards can be iterated and automated quickly. This reduces coordination effort, shortens project timelines, and ensures that new requirements from specialist departments are translated into usable solutions more quickly.
The Databricks Lakehouse is optimized for growing data volumes and demanding workloads.
Computing power and memory are provided elastically and can be flexibly adapted to peaks and new use cases – from batch processing to real-time streaming scenarios. This allows you to start small and expand the platform step by step without having to accept architectural disruptions or costly technology changes.
Databricks consistently relies on open formats and standards and integrates seamlessly into the Microsoft ecosystem.
Your data is in open Delta and Parquet formats. This makes it fully compatible with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Power BI, and other Azure services. This protects your investment, avoids vendor lock-in effects, and enables you to flexibly integrate new technologies such as generative AI or additional analytics services into your existing data landscape.
Databricks is a cloud platform that combines data lake, data warehouse, and AI functionality on a single, open architecture. Under the hood, technologies such as Apache Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow are used. They store structured and unstructured data in open formats such as Parquet and Delta and can use it for analytics, machine learning, and generative AI.
Delta Lake provides ACID transactions, schema validation, and the ability to process batch and streaming data in the same tables. This gives you the flexibility of a data lake combined with the reliability of a data warehouse. Data engineers, analysts, and data scientists work on a shared data foundation rather than building their own data silos.
Databricks is available on Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. In Microsoft environments, Azure Databricks is particularly interesting because it integrates closely with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Power BI, and other Azure services.
No. Although Databricks is closely associated with Apache Spark, it is not limited to classic Spark workloads. In addition to the powerful Spark engine, the platform offers native Delta Lake functionality for reliable data storage, integrated MLflow for machine learning experiments and deployment, and integrations with BI tools such as Power BI and Microsoft Fabric. This allows Databricks to be used as a central data and AI platform for data engineering, analytics, and reporting – even by teams that mainly work with SQL and BI.
Whether you need Databricks in addition to Microsoft Fabric depends on your requirements. Fabric is particularly strong for self-service analytics, integrated reporting with Power BI, and governance in the Microsoft ecosystem. The Databricks Lakehouse is often the right addition when you want to implement complex data engineering workloads, very large data volumes, data science, MLOps, or multi-cloud scenarios. Many companies use both platforms together.
Power BI can source data directly from Databricks SQL Warehouses. Alternatively, you can make Databricks Lakehouse tables available via OneLake and Fabric Lakehouses and build semantic models and reports on top of them. Specialist departments then work in the familiar Power BI interface, while Databricks Lakehouse and Fabric handle data provisioning in the background.
Databricks is available on Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud. In Microsoft environments, Azure Databricks is particularly attractive because it integrates closely with Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, Power BI, and other Azure services. If you use multiple clouds or want to keep this option open, Databricks Lakehouse provides a suitable foundation.
Would you like to learn how Databricks can be used in your company, with or without Fabric? This is exactly what our compact Databricks workshop is for.
Together, we assess your current data landscape, outline technical options for Databricks and Fabric, present suitable architectural variants, and derive concrete next steps for your roadmap.
The partnership between Microsoft and Databricks, along with their integration with Microsoft Fabric, enables us to offer our customers the best of both worlds: Databricks’ performance and the familiar Microsoft platform. This creates modern lakehouse architectures that extend seamlessly into Power BI reporting – including meaningful, fully integrated reports. It’s precisely these ‘here we go’ moments that inspire me.
