Seamless integration of Business Central and Dynamics 365

The starting point for Nabaltec AG’s digitization initiative was the search for a solution for the digital personnel file. As a result, it became clear that the existing IT landscape based around Lotus Notes was no longer future-proof. As the globally active chemical company from Schwandorf already used Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, the decision was made to rely entirely on Microsoft solutions to process and analyze all data end-to-end.

Arineo’s specialist teams launched Dynamics 365 Sales and Customer Insights Journeys and worked closely with Nabaltec’s IT department to ensure their seamless integration into the existing Business Central landscape. In the HR area, the choice fell on the Microsoft ISV solution Hubdrive HR – initially with a focus on the digital personnel file, but with the prospect of establishing a complete HR suite for the company with 500 employees.

The Arineo team fully integrated Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales, Customer Insights Journey, and Hubdrive HR into Nabaltec AG's existing D365 Business Central system - and supported the transition with standardized change management.

The Requirements

Replacement of Lotus Notes

Nabaltec's CRM, marketing, and HR processes were anchored in a self-developed Lotus Notes environment. Replacing it required a deep understanding of the process and sensitive change management.

Seamless integration

The new solutions needed to work seamlessly with the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central already in use, including bidirectional synchronization of master data, quotations, and orders.

Global usability and offline functionality

The solution also had to be available for international sales teams - for example, in the USA and China. At the same time, offline access was required, as many employees work on the move or in production environments without a stable internet connection.

Future-proof

The solution needed to be future-proof and low-maintenance to minimize future internal IT efforts.

Since the specialist teams at Arineo launched Hubdrive HR, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Insights and Sales, including the best practice CRM toolset Arineo.Essentials, Nabaltec has had a consistent, integrated system landscape that efficiently connects sales and marketing, and will simplify HR processes.

The bidirectional interface to Business Central ensures that employees always have access to up-to-date quotation, order, and master data, regardless of which system they are working in. Arineo.Essentials for D365 Sales simplify data capture on any device, including preconfigured evaluations of relevant key figures and smart automations to reduce manual effort in the CRM.

With its fine-grained segmentation options, the new Microsoft D365 Customer Insights Journey marketing solution enables targeted customer communication. While emails and automated campaigns can be created conveniently, performance analysis at a personal level helps the marketing team continuously improve the relevance of its communication efforts.

The benefits of the new solution are also clearly evident in HR: the digital personnel file based on Hubdrive and Dox42 simplifies the management of personnel master data and accelerates document creation.

This setup provides the foundation for expanding advanced HR processes across the company and will also involve managers in these processes going forward.
