From the classic stacking chair to the sophisticated complete solution for the modern office, the product range from VS Vereinigte Spezialmöbelfabriken GmbH & Co KG knows almost no bounds. In order to present its innovative strength and wealth of ideas in an appropriate digital format, the furniture manufacturer with around 1,700 employees decided to further develop its website into an intelligent web presence – and completely relaunched its website to do so.
It was to be seamlessly integrated into the SAP backend, offer maximum performance, and serve as a central touchpoint for all customer and prospective customer concerns. It was to support the display, configuration, and search of complex variants and provide a simple solution for managing the extensive product data.
The choice fell on the SAP Commerce Cloud and the Arineo team, which was already supporting the company from Tauberbischofsheim in e-commerce matters.
Classic furniture and innovations perfectly staged: with its new website based on the SAP Commerce Cloud, VS combines design, performance, and deep integration into the SAP backend. The Arineo team worked with VS to develop over 40 components for SmartEdit - the integrated content management system.
Both the company's ERP and CRM were to be seamlessly integrated into the new SAP Commerce Cloud to avoid data silos and enable a continuous customer journey.
The website was to be not only intuitive and appealing for customers at the front end, but also to offer the furniture manufacturer's employees maximum convenience in the backend.
The standard scope of the SAP Commerce Cloud was to be expanded by connecting third-party systems, e.g., with an interactive 3D product view.
We are very satisfied with the relaunch of our website. Now we can present our products even better and appropriately again – and it’s paying off. Arineo’s e-commerce team developed a highly flexible website for the global company based on SAP Commerce Cloud.
With the integrated product information management (PIM), the VS editorial team can now centrally maintain all relevant product data. These are automatically displayed in the right places, without the website losing flexibility due to the high level of standardization. For example, the editorial team can add further components such as additional image galleries on the product pages at any time with just a few clicks.
Special attention was paid to the presentation of the wide range of product variants. The different product variants are already displayed in the product list view. This allows viewers to intuitively perceive and compare them. When opening a product detail page, the image is always visible first, while the other components are loaded in the background. This not only guarantees maximum ease of use but also outstanding performance.
With SmartEdit, the furniture specialist’s online editorial team has a powerful content management tool at its disposal. All components available on the website were adapted by the Arineoteam to the design specifications with pixel precision. For example, a hotspot component was created. It enables graphic navigation to the products: a click on an image product leads directly to the product details page.. In addition, interested parties can add both references and room concepts to the watch list to obtain targeted advice on the products and ideas contained therein.
