With 42 subsidiaries and branches, Pilz creates safety for people, machines, and the environment worldwide. The products, such as controllers, safety switchgear, or light grids, can be ordered worldwide via a central online store.
There will be no further product development for the existing SAP Web Channel online store with a CRM connection. That’s why Pilz decided to migrate to the proven SAP solution and future-proof architecture of SAP Commerce (B2B).

Technical upgrade as the basis for more customer satisfaction and sales
The demands of a modern and global B2B business such as Pilz's, require high availability and a deeply integrated online store.
The decentralized product data provisioning will be replaced by a central product catalog to simplify data maintenance for the online store.
Viewing the online store and purchasing products must work flawlessly on mobile devices.
Migration is always a balancing act. Existing legacy systems must be migrated to new server landscapes, load balancers, and databases in a coordinated sequence at specific points in time. After the successful go-live, Arineo’s Application Management Support (AMS) will take over responsibility for the application in the future. The AMS includes ensuring smooth operation, as well as continuous development of the solution.

SAP Commerce offers a modern e-commerce platform that is constantly being developed further by SAP with the latest functions and trends in B2C, as well as B2B.
The modern online store frontend, with a responsive layout, enables an optimized shopping experience for all Pilz’s B2B customers; no matter which end device is used for this.
The existing search was expanded and optimized. Users can now also use the newly added product filter functions such as extensive product features.
Pilz’s web store is not a stand-alone solution but is integrated into the company’s main IT systems. Customer information from CRM or configuration, and price information from ERP systems, are made available in this way. This data helps to generate a better service experience.
Pilz’s global market presence requires a 24/7 available online store, which is why the new SAP commerce solution is clustered across several servers so that it is always available if one node fails.
