[Göttingen, March 11, 2026] As part of this settlement, Sycor has agreed to withdraw the ongoing lawsuits, while Arineo has agreed in return to make a compensation payment of €5 million. Sycor had originally claimed €30 million and has therefore waived €25 million. In addition, at Sycor’s request, an apology from Arineo was included in the settlement.
Specifically, Sycor founder Hans-Georg Näder had accused the Arineo founders, who had previously worked for Sycor, of poaching employees and customers unfairly during Arineo’s founding. In the meantime, Arineo had been confirmed by Austria’s highest court that the damages claimed by Sycor were not caused by any unfair actions on Arineo’s part.
“During the settlement talks, we got the impression that it was particularly important for Mr. Näder to receive an apology from our side that he could then communicate publicly,” explains Dr. Marko Weinrich, CEO of Arineo GmbH. “Since the lawsuits brought by Mr. Näder have created considerable work and costs on our side, we agreed to this without giving up our view of the matter: the employees’ move to Arineo was their own free decision and was not the result of unfair conduct.”
Both companies, therefore, continue to hold different legal opinions regarding the events of the time. However, the settlement has resulted in an economically and entrepreneurially sensible solution to finally bring the long-standing disputes to an end.
The Arineo GmbH management sees this agreement as an important step toward enabling the company to focus even more strongly on developing its various business areas and addressing its clients’ needs.
