Customer verification with Power Automate directly in Microsoft Teams
When our customer validation solution based on the Microsoft Power Platform is used, Power Automate automatically triggers an approval workflow as soon as a new customer is created in Dynamics 365. The customer is initially blocked in this first step to minimize business risks.
New debtor entry is blocked for verification.
Power Automate sends a notification via Teams to the department responsible for approval – in our example, the internal sales team. The message includes a short profile of the new customer along with a validation request. The internal sales team can now approve the new customer directly in Teams with a single click and add a comment on the approval. Both the approving person and their comment are stored in an audit-proof manner in Dynamics 365, so that all relevant people are informed about the customer approval.

If a more detailed check of the new customer is required, the internal sales department can forward the request to another department, such as accounting, with a single click. If this option is selected, Power Automate automatically sends a message to the accounting department. This message includes an approval button, a direct link to external verification systems such as Creditreform or the credit protection association, and a link to the tax office for VAT validation. The accounting department can then approve the customer with one click and add a comment to the approval. Both the approval and the comment are stored in Dynamics in an audit-proof manner. If only a partial approval is desired, accounting can access and edit the customer record in Microsoft Dynamics 365 via a direct link.

Our Power Platform solution for customer approval in Dynamics 365 enables secure and efficient verification of new customers, without requiring those involved to leave their familiar working environment. Unapproved customers are automatically collected in a blacklist and documented transparently.
