[Göttingen, 14.10.2026] On October 13, 2026, Leandro Meermeier began his work as a member of the Bitkom Executive Board, the German Digital Association’s strategic C-level forum, during the Smart Country Convention in Berlin. The membership is personal and entirely voluntary. Approximately 100 owners, board members, and executives from member companies discuss current issues related to the digital economy, technology, and politics there.
Meermeier intends to contribute his experience in supporting medium-sized companies in transforming their core processes to the Executive Board. He is particularly committed to the productive use of artificial intelligence and to a realistic view of digital transformation projects in German SMEs. “Digitalization rarely fails due to technology. What matters is data quality, available capacity, and the people who implement change. At Arineo, we can clearly see which business processes already benefit from AI agents today and which do not. I want to bring this practical experience into the discussions of the Executive Board,” says Meermeier.
Meermeier will also contribute knowledge from the exclusive Inner Circle for Microsoft AI Business Solutions to the debates. Arineo has been appointed to this group for the fourth time, which brings together the most strategically important Microsoft partner companies worldwide each year. There, Meermeier communicates directly with Microsoft specialists and managers and receives early insights into strategic developments and product roadmaps. These technological impulses will enable Meermeier to contribute to Bitkom discussions on AI regulation, digital sovereignty, and the framework conditions for the digital transformation of the economy and administration.
“I am very pleased about being accepted into the Executive Board. The membership is personal, but I represent Arineo GmbH and its client companies there. Conversely, what I learn in the association flows back into our company. This allows us to assess relevant developments early on and provide our clients and partner companies with an even more well-founded assessment,” explains Meermeier. He has a clear goal for his term: Bitkom debates should consider both technological possibilities and the conditions for their practical implementation in SMEs.
