For years, isi sensory futures – or isi for short – had successfully operated on on-premise systems. However, as the company grew, the existing infrastructure increasingly reached its limits. The management seized this opportunity to conduct a thorough review of all systems and worked with Arineo to develop a strategic IT roadmap.
Founded in 1995, the market research institute paid particular attention to IT security and governance, as well as workplace equipment. The question of migrating systems to the cloud also played a central role, given the increasingly mobile nature of the workforce. Through the collaboration between isi and Arineo, not only did a long-term IT strategy emerge to support the future plans of the internationally operating company from Southern Lower Saxony, but also a standardized and easily scalable IT landscape in the cloud.
isi has transformed into a cloud-only company, offering employees, customers, and IT admins an IT environment that fosters well-being.
Previously, isi had pursued a best-of-breed approach. Now, the landscape needed to be harmonized to ensure unimpeded data flow and simplified collaboration between the different project teams.
The collaboration between the company's three locations and numerous fully remote team members around the world needed to be further promoted. Additionally, digital workplace equipment needed to be standardized, and device management centralized to cope with the company's strong employee growth.
isi works with sensitive data: therefore, the architecture and solutions still needed to meet the highest IT security standards.
After a comprehensive assessment, Arineo’s strategy consulting team developed a concept for the further development and optimization of isi’s IT infrastructure. The gist: all systems should be hosted in the Microsoft Azure Cloud in the future. Furthermore, the company should align itself according to Modern Workplace Best Practices. In an iterative process, old systems were replaced, new systems introduced, and the IT landscape harmonized – until the last on-premise server is shut down at the end of 2024.
Employees now benefit from a flexible workplace environment based on Microsoft 365, which promotes dynamic collaboration between different project teams and locations. With its simple scalability, the cloud infrastructure optimally supports the company’s growth – as does the newly established central device management. This allows for the easier management of the now standardized IT equipment and efficient handling of onboarding and offboarding processes.
