Hello Benjamin! What’s your job at Arineo?
I have been a trainee IT specialist in application development in the CXS (Customer Experience Solutions) since August 2022. Along with my fellow trainees, I learn how to create websites and customer portals with a focus on e-commerce.
What exactly does your job entail?
During our training, we are gradually introduced to customer projects. As a foundation, we start with the Java programming language, using it to build a text-based store. This way, we get to know the central programming language that we use. At the same time, we start thinking about what a web store should look like, what functionality it should have, and much more. As the next significant step, we began to familiarize ourselves with the Spring Java framework, which allows us to quickly build simple web applications. The goal is to transform our initially simple shops into fully functional web stores that we can present to our colleagues. In the second year of the apprenticeship, we will get to know several other tools, and finally, we’ll be involved in customer projects.
At Arineo, we adhere to 15 values. Which of these values is especially important to you?
We have several values that are particularly important to me, but the most central one for me is “Putting people first”.
Can you tell us why you chose this value?
As I originally come from an educational background, working with people in general, and the appreciative and respectful interaction with each other, is particularly important to me. You can always sense that Arineo has made this a corporate value in everyday work. At the same time, it is closely related to so many other values that are also important to me, such as “Open, honest, and authentic” or “Trust as a foundation”.
How do you live by these values?
Especially in our CXS team, there is a very human touch in the office. Contributing to this warm work atmosphere is truly enjoyable. At the same time, this value encompasses terms like respect and appreciation, which are shown to you daily and which, of course, I want to reciprocate to my colleagues.
Can you give us specific examples of how these values show up in your day-to-day work?
Ultimately, you can see it in many small things that express appreciation in the daily work routine. In personal conversations, communication is always on an equal footing and we never lose sight of the individual. I noticed this early on as an apprentice. Even though, at that time, I was far from working with my colleagues on customer projects and, in my case, didn’t know much about our daily work, I was made to feel like a fully-fledged colleague. My concerns were taken just as seriously as those of someone who had been here for years. This early experience clarified for me that Arineo has these values for a reason and truly lives them.
