Arineo trainees donate €5,000

The Göttingen IT company’s trainees have once again donated €5,000 to charitable projects as part of a fundraising project. Institutions in Göttingen were also pleased to receive grants.

[Göttingen, March 08, 2023] For the third time in a row, Arineo GmbH trainees were able to donate a budget totaling €5,000 to aid organizations on behalf of the company. The idea behind the project is not only to impart junior staff with technical know-how but also social commitment. “We are very impressed with the care with which our trainees have selected both the organizations and the intended use,” says Eileen Zimbal, training manager at Arineo, who is pleased with the young people’s efforts.

This year, seven first-year IT trainees specializing in application development took part in the campaign. “Basically, I think it’s great that on the one hand, Arineo has money available for donations and, on the other, that the trainees get to choose the organizations or projects. For me, this demonstrates trust and gives you the feeling of belonging and having a say right from the start,” says trainee Tim Engels. After thoroughly researching the organizations, the young people distributed the amount to their favorite projects according to an elaborate system:

  • Aktion Deutschland hilft – Nothilfe Ukraine (Ukraine Emergency Relief) | €800
Helping to provide people with essential goods, medicine, heating equipment, or psychological support
  • Caritasverband Südniedersachsen e.V. (South Lower Saxony charity Organization) | €1,000
Promotion of assistance for self-determined living
  • DRF Luftrettung (Air Rescue) | €600
Grant to modernize the fleet, provide training, or purchase new medical equipment
  • Elternhilfe für das krebskranke Kind Göttingen e.V. (Assistance for parents of children with cancer) | €700
Support for accommodation for parents whose children are undergoing inpatient treatment
  • Göttinger Tafel | €1,300
Living subsidies for people with low incomes whose situation has deteriorated even further as a result of the war in Ukraine
  • moinworld e.V. | €600
Organization of free programming courses, lectures, and workshops on new technologies to increase the proportion of female software developers and managers in the IT sector

“I think it’s great that Arineo has made this fundraising project possible for us. Above all, trusting us to donate so much money without any real guidelines impressed me and I really appreciate it. I thoroughly enjoyed organizing the project with the other trainees,” says Tim Dornieden enthusiastically, and Joy Schwarz adds: “In my eyes, it was simply a great project that showed that every single one of us wants to help wholeheartedly and that we are committed to it!” Besides, working together on the project promotes team spirit and getting to know the other trainees. It also provides the young people with a very concrete illustration of how companies can contribute to social solidarity by accepting social responsibility.
