With courage and honesty: How our corporate values shape our daily working life

In our interview, our colleague Dennis talks about his exciting role as a Presales Consultant at Arineo and his passion for inspiring customers and colleagues alike. He reveals why values such as "courage to break new ground" and "open, honest and authentic" don't just exist on paper, but are actively practiced at Arineo. With concrete examples - such as the establishment of the Paderborn site - he shows how trust and transparency shape the corporate culture and why Arineo is more than just a workplace for him.

Hello Dennis! Can you briefly tell us what your job is at Arineo?

Dennis: Hi, I work at Arineo as a Presales Consultant. I love getting (potential) customers excited about our IT solutions and making business processes more efficient as a result. Contact with people is very important to me, which is why I really appreciate my role as a contract partner at Arineo, as I can accompany my colleagues and support them in their further development.

We have set ourselves 15 values at Arineo. Which of our corporate values appeals to you personally the most and why?

Dennis: I can identify well with all the values and will pick out two of them:

Open, honest and authentic: this value is very important to me in my dealings, both within the company and when working with our customers. I firmly believe that honesty and transparency always lead to the best results and are appreciated by others. I regularly receive this feedback in both my private and professional life, which makes me all the happier as it is one of our core values.

The courage to break new ground: It is in my nature to question fixed patterns and not just work according to protocol. I want to shape my work and my working environment with my colleagues so that we can achieve the best results. At Arineo, I have the opportunity to do this. Opinions are valued at all levels and there is always the opportunity to change and tackle things. Nobody sticks to old structures and it’s never said: “We’ve always done it this way.”

How do you experience the implementation of the value “Courage to break new ground” in your day-to-day work?

Dennis: We have a very good feedback culture at Arineo and attach great importance to all colleagues talking to each other and reflecting on shared situations. I find it particularly remarkable that this is supported by a strong HR team. Numerous training courses and coaching sessions are offered to promote this value.

As already mentioned, everyone is encouraged to try out new things and to optimize or change existing processes. Small practice groups are formed to drive these topics forward and at the end the result is evaluated. There is no right or wrong. I really enjoy helping to shape things and have this opportunity in all areas.

Are there specific examples where you have seen this corporate value in action?

Dennis: I’ll take this example: Together with some colleagues, I was immediately given the confidence to set up a location in Paderborn. Some of my colleagues and I wanted to work together in one office and we were given this opportunity straight away. After I was briefly introduced to the process of setting up the office, I was allowed to take responsibility for everything else. I always received the necessary help and support. After just under six months, we had our fully equipped location in Paderborn. There were no complicated approval processes or coordination, just the confidence to do the right thing – and it worked wonderfully.

How do you think our corporate values differ from other companies and how do these values influence our work?

Dennis: In my opinion, an essential step is to define and establish corporate values. However, the decisive difference arises when a company also acts credibly in accordance with them. While many companies implement the first step, it is the real, lived implementation of the values in everyday working life that really stands out. This is precisely where Arineo’s strength lies. It doesn’t feel like a mere list of values that only exist for external presentation. Instead, the entire corporate concept is consistently aligned with these values, and the company is constantly working on living them. You can feel this authenticity – and that’s what makes the difference.”
