Arineo’s corporate values define our fundamental beliefs and goals in our daily work and serve as a guide for how things are handled in the company. For us as new trainees, these guiding principles are invaluable as we navigate a completely unfamiliar environment. During the Arineo values workshop, we got to know our corporate values better and had the opportunity to discuss them.
The workshop took place in the first week of training. However, months before the actual training, we got our first taste of Arineo’s people-oriented values as all new trainees were invited to a small event with current trainees before their training even began. We were warmly welcomed by our colleagues from the higher trainee years. We could already feel the appreciation and anticipation here. Back to our workshop: during a short discussion round, the values – 15, to be precise – were presented one by one. In addition to business requirements, we experience a people-oriented work culture at Arineo. From the very beginning, the individual values did not feel unfamiliar to us because they are actively practiced within the company. Here, the values provide us guidance for our everyday work together.
What we particularly appreciated was the opportunity to discuss the values and share our experiences with one another.
For some of us, this particular exchange was especially inspiring and motivating. We also realized that we share similar values and goals with Arineo and it felt good, knowing we are all heading in the same direction. We have a common goal. The values serve as a guideline – they are our compass for fostering a positive team culture.
In addition to the values, we were introduced to the company’s expectations. A key aspect that we focus on daily is the concept of personal responsibility, i.e., shared accountability in our roles. To actively incorporate these values into our daily work, we are expected to implement them autonomously. Everyone in the company is responsible for bringing the values to life, as this is the only way we can grow together with Arineo. And that includes us trainees.
After the workshop, we were given a task to continue working on in our everyday routine. We were asked to choose a value that we found particularly challenging or difficult to relate to. There were 15 laminated cards, each printed with one of Arineo’s values. Everyone took a card with the value that spoke to them the most. Some put their card in front of their PC so they could see it daily. Others put their card in their transparent phone case, always carrying the value with them. This way, we never lose sight of these values. Additionally, we can present our chosen value during the monthly trainee meeting and share our insights with others. This regular exchange promotes mutual understanding and strengthens the company culture.
Overall, the values workshop was an exciting experience for us, providing us with a great introduction to life at Arineo. On the one hand, the exchange enabled us to understand our own values better. On the other hand, these values helped us to understand Arineo better.
