Consulting, designing, digitizing: this is how a Microsoft D365 production consultant works at Arineo

How do you digitize production processes? How do you create transparency in complex value flows? And what is it actually like to work as an ERP consultant in production & logistics at Arineo? Felix has been supporting companies on their path to digital transformation for several years and offers insight into his day-to-day work.

“Production is never an isolated process,” he explains. “It only works when planning, materials, machines, and IT work together perfectly.” Felix works at precisely this interface. He analyzes workflows, redesigns processes, and ensures that they can be properly mapped, controlled, and later further developed in Microsoft Dynamics 365. What he finds particularly exciting is that this involves not only IT, but also a deep dive into his customers’ value creation.

There is no such thing as a “typical” project for Felix. Sometimes a workshop starts with a clear agenda, sometimes with a completely open question. Some customers come with concrete ideas, others need more moderation and structure. “You have to stay flexible and be willing to think outside the box,” he says. This is exactly what makes the work lively – and ensures that no two days are the same.

But what really makes projects successful? For Felix, customers must take the consulting role seriously. “We are not just there to work through requirements, but bring experience from many implementation and digitalization projects. When our expertise is heard, it creates real added value.” Of course, there are also situations where persuasion is required. Frustration is sometimes part of consulting – but so is the ability to deal with it professionally.

In addition to technical expertise, Felix also gains a lot personally from each project. New industries, new ways of thinking, new characters – from pragmatic doers to decision-makers facing complex challenges. “You almost become a bit of an amateur psychologist,” he says with a smile. It is precisely this mix of people and technology that makes the work so enriching.

He also sees the interdisciplinary collaboration with his colleagues as a major advantage. Arineo employs almost 400 people, so you constantly meet new colleagues from different specialist areas and expand your network. Despite the company’s size, the teamwork feels surprisingly familiar to him.

People really help each other here - without bureaucracy, without a competitive mindset. This is not the norm in consulting.

What should people bring with them if they want to work in this environment? “Openness, willingness to learn, and curiosity,” says Felix, without hesitation. Anyone who needs fixed routines and tightly structured days is less likely to feel at home here. But those who enjoy understanding processes, designing solutions, and taking responsibility will find that Arineo is exactly the right place for them.

Why is it worth joining his team? For Felix, the answer is clear: the project work is varied and meaningful, and it offers plenty of room for personal development. At the same time, Arineo enables a working culture based on trust and flexibility. “I can organize my work flexibly as long as project and team requirements are met – and that fits well with my life.”
