Vereinigte Hagelversicherung VVaG is the European market leader for the insurance of agricultural weather risks.
For almost 200 years, the members of the insurance company have relied on the principle of a community of solidarity, shouldering risks together according to the principle of “all for one and one for all”.
VEREINIGTE HAGEL operates eight regional head offices in Germany and 6 subsidiaries in other European countries and is free to provide service operations in 3 other countries, making a total of 62 regional associations.
Despite this broad distribution across Europe, there was no digital, central platform on which, for example, news and other internal company information could be accessed by the employees.
In order to make collaboration between the sites more efficient, promote internal communication, and provide standardized templates, the need arose for a Hagel intranet, the ‘InVHonet’.

To understand the customer’s wishes and needs, we rely on requirement workshops with all parties involved – across the whole company.
Microsoft 365 Cloud, SharePoint Online, and “Valo Intranet” from Valo were selected to form the technological basis for the intranet solution. This ensures both future scalability and flexible extensibility to include subsystems – such as digital asset management, image databases, ticket tools, and human resource portals – without problems.
Valo Intranet was designed by Arineo solution architects and installed on SharePoint Online in VEREINIGTE HAGEL’s Microsoft tenant.
Subsequently, an agile approach was used to configure the ‘InVHonet’ solution for the customer and implement it according to VEREINIGTE HAGEL’s corporate identity.
In addition to the technical implementation, project and change management, Arineo also provided a series of online seminars to familiarize employees with the new communication platform, both in terms of technical and organizational training, as well as in editorial terms.
The smooth handover to productive operation was ensured by a GoLive and hypercare service.
